Ruth M. (Bednarek) Dittman

Ruth Marie (Stanley) Dittman, 78, of Emlenton, Richland Twp., Clarion Co., passed away late Wednesday evening, June 29, 2016 at Parker Personal Care.

Born in Elmira, NY on February 9, 1938, Ruth was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Mary A. Bebble Bednarek.

Ruth was a graduate of Elmira High School.  Following high school Ruth proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.

Ruth enjoyed participating in various sports for many years and was a member of the American Legion in Parker.  She enjoyed watching sports, knitting, and visiting with anyone she met.

She was married to Lawrence “Larry” Stanley for 25 years.  Larry preceded her in death 1982.  She later married Lewis Dittman Sr. and they were married for 25 years.  Lewis preceded her in death in 2011.

Ruth is survived by  her children, Mary Helen Fager and her husband, Jerry, of Delton, MI, Steven Stanley of Hastings, MI, Bill Stanley and his wife, Michelle, of Middleville, MI, and Ann Butler and her husband, Dana, of Turkey City; five grandchildren, Brandee Kiewiet and her husband, Jeremy, of Delton, MI, Holli Slagter and her husband Tim of Battle Creek, MI, Brandon Stanley and Lynsey of Shelbyville, MI, Brent Stanley and Brittney of Middleville, MI, and BreAnna Stanley of Hastings, MI; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Bednarek of Elmira, NY and Joseph Bednarek and his wife, Betsy, of Chesterfield Twp., MI; two sisters, Pat Pontbriand of Spencer, MA and MaryJo Thomas and her husband, John, of Port Orange, FL, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Ruth was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian Stanley, who died in 1967.

A private family memorial service will be held in Michigan at a later date.  Interment will be in Middleville, MI.  Memorials can be given in her name to Parker Personal Care for their activity fund or for Dementia/Alzheimer’s research.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hile Funeral Home Inc., St. Petersburg.  For additional information or to send a condolence, please visit www.hilefh.com.
