Carol Ann (Young) Hiles

December 15, 1937 ~ June 3, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old


Carol Ann Young Hiles, 79, of Queenstown Rd., Karns City, passed away peacefully at her home  surrounded by her loving family at 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 following a two-year battle with cancer.

Carol was born in North Washington on December 15, 1937 to the late Richard G. and Bertha E. Young.

Carol is survived by her husband, James M. Hiles Jr. whom she married on January 21, 1956.

A homemaker, Carol enjoyed reading, flowers, old movies, sitting by the outside fire, road trips to Florida, and most especially the company of her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Steve Hiles and his wife, Kathy, of Chicora, Cynthia Hillwig and her husband, Rodger, of Karns City, Kathy Rumbaugh and her husband, Dave, of Hilliards, Jeffrey Hiles and his wife, Wanda, of Karns City, and Marcia Roessing and her husband, J.T. of Parker.  Carol was very proud of her thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.  Carol also leaves behind two sisters, Betty Zimmel and Donna Coachman and two brothers, Richard F. and Thomas G. Young.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Carol Hiles, who died on November 27, 1958.

The family wishes to thank Good Samaritan Hospice of Cabot (Lisa, Amy, Katelyn, Pam, Amber, Shelly, Amanda, and Med Fast drivers) for their assistance and loving care of Carol and the family during her final months.

A private visitation and a funeral service officiated by the Rev. Richard McCanna, a United Methodist pastor, was held Sunday afternoon at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City.  Interment was in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice-Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 134 Marwood Rd., Cabot, PA 16023.  Condolences may be sent by visitingwww.hilefh.com.
