Such a wonderful lady, amazing teacher and friend. She treated every kid in her classes like they were here own. She seemed to know everyone and their families going back generations, even remembering names and relations. In all my years I never heard one negative thing about her, she was one of those precious few that never met a stranger. She helped shape countless lives and showed how to earn respect through genuine honesty and her love for the people around her. Truly remarkable people are few and far between and Mrs. Lucy Dollar was certainly one of them.
My deepest condolences to out to her family and friends, we've all lost someone that we will never forget, she deserves to be remembered with honor and respect.

Please accept my sincere sympathies. Mrs. Dollar was my English teacher at KC for grades 7, 8, and 9. She was an excellent teacher and one of "my favorites!" I am so grateful for her and her life having an impact on me as I am now an elementary school teacher, and hold her as one of my teaching role models! I will always remember her fondly. Please know that I care and will be keeping you all in close thought and prayer now and in the days/weeks to come. May memories bring an extra measure of comfort in time as you celebrate her wonderful life and legacy. God Bless You All and Keep You in HIS Care.

John, Chris, Terri, Bill, Kay, Chuck and all the Dollar and Hile family, I was completely shocked when I heard of Lucy's passing. She was always kind and interested in what I was doing in my life. As the obit stated, "She was my favorite teacher" holds true for me. She never had an unkind word. I was fortunate to have her in 7th and 8th grade English at KCHS. My condolences and prayers are with you all. She is now in Heaven and has no more pain. It leaves a hole in all our hearts who are left behind.

I was incredibly saddened ro read of Mrs. Dollar's passing. She was my favorite teacher. I saved everything I wrote in her 7th grade English class that she commented on. She made me believe in myself as a student and person. I still, every now and again, read her comments to me and they make me feel every bit as good as they did 20 years ago. She was a wonderful person, and I was lucky to have had her influence in my life.

Bill, Chris and family, I'm so very sorry to learn of your Mother's passing. Lucy was such a beautiful woman, inside and out. She made going to English class truly enjoyable! I always loved seeing her out and about in Butler. One of my favorite memories of her is when I saw her at the Butler Commons, and she just stood there shaking her head and laughing...her first words out of her mouth were, "Who would have ever thought I'd see you on a Harley?" She's left a amazing legacy, and it is evident by all the wonderful things everyone has said.
