Robert H. Wiles

Robert H. “Tweeter” Wiles, 88, of Leeward Drive, Butler, formerly of Kaylor, passed away Sunday morning, March 26, 2017 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Butler.

Born in Brady’s Bend Twp., Armstrong County on March 28, 1928, Robert was the son of the late Hadley L. and Carrie McIntyre Wiles.

He had been employed at Penreco in Karns City for 45 years, retiring in 1989.  He was a member of St. Paul Community Church in Chicora, the Frogtown Wildlife Club, Argyle Lodge #540 F&AM in Chicora, the Consistory Valley of New Castle, and the Sugarcreek VFD.  Tweeter enjoyed golfing, baseball, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary M. “Sis” Callihan Wiles, whom he married on October 25, 1958.  Also surviving are two daughters, Debbie Montgomery and her husband, James, of Acworth, GA and Marcia Lupi and her husband, Michael, of Butler; five grandchildren, Todd Montgomery and his wife, Jen, Mark Montgomery, Steve Montgomery, Michelle Lupi Benson and her husband, Steve, and Shawn Lupi; six great grandchildren, Jackson and Declan Montgomery, Mason and Reese Montgomery, and Hadley and Holden Benson, as well as a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Tweeter was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen McElroy Wiles, who died January 27, 1954; two brothers, Ronald Wiles and Boyd Wiles; three sisters, Genevieve Moore, Margery Kruise, and Maxine Barger, and a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 1 -3 and 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday.  A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Kenneth R.
