George W. Charlton III

George W. “Bunk” Charlton III, 62, of Butler, passed away Saturday evening, November 19, 2016 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

George was born in Parkersburg, WV on October 14, 1954.  He was the son of the late George W. II  and Helen Queen Charlton.

George had been employed by Mortise Security Company at Butler Refrigerated Meats.  He enjoyed watching the History Channel, hunting, drawing and coloring.  George was a car enthusiast and especially enjoyed the company of his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine M. Hupp Charlton on January 11, 2016.   The couple was  married on May 19, 1978 in Karns City. 

George is survived by a daughter, Charissa Charlton Doyle; two sons, Justin Charlton and his wife, Amber, and Steven Charlton, all of Butler; fifteen grandchildren, a great grandson and George was looking forward to the arrival of another great grandchild in May; three brothers, Lee W. Charlton of Louisiana, Timmy Charlton of Orlando, and Danny Queen of Florida; a sister, Lisa Charlton of Orlando, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 4 – 7 p.m. Saturday where a funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m.  Interment will be Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.  For additional information or to send a condolence, please visit www.hilefh.com.
