William J. “Billy” VanWormer, 32, of Apple Rd., Petrolia, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 20, 2025, in Blair County.
William was born in Butler on September 11, 1992. He was the son of Patricia L. Haley and the stepson of John Knox of Petrolia.
Billy attended Karns City Area High School and was a 2011 cyberschool graduate. He had been employed at the Country Kitchen in Butler.
He enjoyed gaming and the company of his friends and family.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by two aunts, Sheila Colville and Shelby Haley and an uncle, Lance Colville, all of West Sunbury; his cousins, Samantha, Trevor, Devin, Chase, Lauryn, and Corey.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ron and Shirley Haley.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from Noon-2 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Bishop Alan Ion, pastor of the Karns City Church of God of Prophecy, officiating.
