William A. "Bill" Barnhart Sr.

William A. “Bill” Barnhart Sr. of Bruin formerly or Karns City, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. 

William was born in Chicora. July 20, 1937.  He was the son of the late Steve D. and Elsie J Heeter Barnhart.  He attended school in Karns City.  Bill worked at Penreco in Karns City and retired following 45 years of service.  In his earlier years Bill enjoyed working on cars at his garage in Karns City.

He is survived by one son William Allen Barnhart Jr. and his wife Anna of Bruin, a daughter Karen Sue Hilliard and her husband Rick of Butler. Five grandchildren Shawn Barnhart and his wife Syndi of Butler, Chad Barnhart and his wife Lura, of Prospect, Eric Hilliard of Butler, Jon Knoll and his wife Amber of Karns City, and Marissa Tirk of New Kensington. Six great grandchildren Asiah, Alexcia, Addy, Luke, Lilyana, and Easton, two brothers Leroy and Jeff Barnhart and a sister-in-law Adele Barnhart, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by, two sons infant Kevin Barnhart and Stephen Barnhart, and a brother, Richard “Dick” Barnhart.
