Steven W. Smock Jr., 36, of Emlenton, went to be with the Lord Wednesday afternoon, February 12, 2025 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
Steven was born in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County on September 5, 1988. He was the son of Steven W. Sr. and Cheryl L. Keith Smock of Emlenton.
He attended First Baptist School in Butler and Bob Jones University. Steven had earned a business degree in automotive technology and had been employed as a mechanic in Raleigh, NC. He attended The Shepherd’s Church in Cary, NC. He enjoyed a cold Dr. Pepper, the company of his dog, “Suki”, video games, goofing off to get a laugh, and most especially the company of his kids.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three children, Oliver, Flynn, and Sylvia Smock, and their mother, Emma Smock, all of Benson, NC; two sisters, Sarah L. Zinkan and her husband, Joshua, of Spring Lake, NC and Katie L. Elliott and her husband, Joshua, of Emlenton; his maternal grandmother, Dora Keith of Sarver; six nephews, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William C. Smock and Loretta Ward and his maternal grandfather, Terry Keith.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton, from 4-7 p.m. Saturday. A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel Basham, pastor of Worthington Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
