Steven Douglas “Steve” Rinker, 67, of Lamartine, passed away unexpectedly at home Tuesday evening, May 5, 2026 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Steven was born in Oil City on May 25, 1958. He was the son of the late Floyd A. Rinker and Patricia Wenner Phillips. He was a 1976 graduate of Keystone High School. In his earlier years he was a forklift operator and union president for Timberline Packaging in Knox and later retired from Kronospan in Shippenville. He was a longtime member of the Knox Rod and Gun Club. Steve enjoyed fishing and gardening and most especially sitting around a campfire with his family.
Steve is survived by his wife, Darlene K. Myers Rinker, whom he married at the Salem Lutheran Church on February 5, 1977. Also surviving is his daughter, Jackie Fisher and her husband, Josh, of Emlenton, his son, Adam Rinker of Rouseville; two granddaughters, Kaylee Fisher of Emlenton and Paislee Rinker of Rouseville. Also surviving are two brothers, Mike Rinker and his wife, Terri, of Shippenville and Carl Rinker and his wife, Laura Lou, of Elizabethtown; a sister, Justine Rinker and her companion, Scott, of Strattanville; two step brothers, Troy Cashdollar and his wife, Justine, of Cooperstown and Todd Cashdollar and his wife, Casi, of Knox; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Myers; a brother-in-law, Rod Myers; a sister-in-law, Crystal O’Neil and her husband, Steve, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arlington and Grace Rinker, who raised him, his father-in-law, Dorland Myers, and a brother-in-law, Marc Couch.
