Sharon Kay “Shari” Courson, 76, of Emlenton, passed away at home Thursday afternoon, February 20, 2025.

Sharon was born in Franklin on July 20, 1948.  She was the daughter of the late Wayne M. and Francis Russell Carr.

Shari was a 1966 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School.  She was a well-known area beautician and had recently retired from Scenic Valley Coiffures in Emlenton.  She had also been employed at Sports Pal Canoes, Foodland, and Emlenton IGA.  Shari attended the Emlenton Presbyterian Church.

Surviving is a son, Clayton J. “Clay” Courson and his wife, Tammy; a granddaughter, Jadyn Courson, all of Emlenton; a brother, Todd R. Carr and his wife, LeAnne, of Emlenton; her nieces and nephews, Karey Carr, Sadie Cohlhepp and her husband, Justin, Anna Carr, and Russell Carr; three great nephews, Carter, Carson, and Conner; a sister-in-law, Susan Carr of The Woodlands, TX; a step grandson, Justin Linamen and his wife, Ashley; her step great grandchildren, Aleya and Kage Linamen, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Carr, and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home Inc., Emlenton.  Interment will be in Big Bend Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a local charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
