Ronald L. "Ron" Miller Obituary

Ronald L. “Ron” Miller, 68, of Chicora, passed away of natural causes following a brief illness, Sunday evening, January 30, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

Ronald was born in Butler on August 16, 1953. He was the son of the late Harry and Dolly M. LaPearle Fleeger, and Noble A. Miller. He was a 1971 graduate of Karns City Area High School, and was a US Navy Veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era. Ron was an avid fisherman and hunter, and always looked forward to the next fishing trip. He had been employed as a contractor in residential construction. Ron was very fond of his longtime friends, the Scherer boys, Jeremy, Justin, Bradley, Nathan, and Jerry Jr., and he always said he “loved his daughters very much.”

He is survived by two sisters, Donna M. Bartoe and her husband, Allen of Fairview, and Bonnie K. Rossiter of Petrolia; his nieces and nephew, Diane Hughes and her husband, Greg, Matt A. Bartoe and his wife, Christy, Lynn Campbell and her husband, Mike, and Heather Hilliard and her husband, Scott; as well as a number of great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Rossiter.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main Street, Karns City from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Dennis Barger, a family friend, officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home following the funeral by members of the Chicora and Brady’s Bend American Legion posts.
