Ronald E. "Ron" Roudebush Obituary

Rev. Ronald E. “Ron” Roudebush, Sr., 84, a well-known Chicora area resident and Petroleum Valley minister, went to be with his Lord and Savior early Friday morning, February 14, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford.

Born in Karns City on Sept. 15, 1940, he was the son of the late Lonnie E. and Rosella Shepard Roudebush. Ron attended Fairview Township Karns City Schools and was a former President of the Karns City Area School Board. He was stationed at Fort Knox while serving the U.S. Army. Ron and his brother, Joe, owned and operated the ESSO station in Karns City and had also worked for Central Electric and PennDot.  Ron was a classic car enthusiast.

His love and desire to serve our Lord Jesus Christ was his greatest service. He was set forth as a Bishop in the Church of God of Prophecy and pastored churches for 40 years throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio and Tennessee. Even in his final weeks, he would always speak with anyone he met about our Lord, including his doctors and nurses, “Always look to the Lord”.

Ron is survived by his love of 54 years, Cheryl A. Thompson Roudebush. The couple was married on June 20, 1970 in the Karns City Church of God of Prophecy.  Also surviving are his three children with whom he took great care and pride, Ronald E. Roudebush, Jr. and his wife, Candace, of Cleveland, TN; Christopher P. Roudebush  and his wife, Rebecca, of Snellville, GA, and Brittany L. Lambert-Colosimo  and her husband, Jake, of East Brady.  Ron was known as "Grandpa”, “Poppy” and “R.E. the Great” to his six grandchildren, whom he cherished, Cameron, Caden and Calla-Rose Roudebush of Cleveland, TN, Blake and Carson Roudebush of Snellville, GA, and Oliver Lambert of East Brady; his sister-in-law, Sally Roudebush of Parker; his brother-in-law, Donald Ealy of Grove City, as well as a number of other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jack L. Roudebush, Joseph L. Roudebush and Vivian C. Ealy, and a son-in-law, Nathan J. Lambert, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilbert “Wib” and Hazel Thompson, a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law.

Friends of Rev. Ronald E. “Ron” Roudebush, Sr., will be received from 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Karns City Church of God of Prophecy, 1510 Kittanning Pike, Karns City.  A funeral service will follow from the church at 3 p.m.  Interment will be at St. John Reformed Church Cemetery, Chicora.  Memorial contributions may be made to a Church of God of Prophecy of your choice.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City.  Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
