Roberta A. (Campbell) Vensel

Roberta A. Vensel, 94, of Lititz, formerly of Chicora, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Brethren Village Retirement Community in Lititz. 

Roberta was born in Greenville, Mercer County on December 3, 1930.  She was the daughter of the late Amos and Sarah E. Armagost Campbell.  She was married on March 8, 1954 to Richard R. “Dick” Vensel, Sr.  Mr. Vensel preceded her in death on March 29, 1993.

Roberta was a devoted homemaker and in her earlier years had been employed by GC Murphy CO, Magnetics, Bobbie Brooks, and the Karns City Area School District.  She attended Calvary Church of Lancaster and the Chicora Alliance Church.

Roberta enjoyed traveling, camping, golfing, bowling, playing games and most especially spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Nice and her husband, Dennis of Lititz; six grandchildren: Tyler Nice, Courtney Lenko, Brittany Pfautz, Andrew Vensel, Abigail Vensel, and Rebekah Vensel; five great grandchildren: Elijah, Ethan, Oliver, Colter, and Wyatt; her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Vensel and a sister, Joan Snyder Garing; her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Marjorie Campbell and Sara and Lee Schnell, as well as a number of nieces nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard R. Vensel Jr.; her brothers, David, Frank, Amos, Fred, and Wayne; her sisters, Margaret Rankin Hornberger and Jane Rodgers, as well as a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A graveside service followed by interment will be held at 9am on Saturday at Bear Creek Cemetery in Petrolia with Roberta’s nephew, Michael Campbell, officiating.  Memorial contributions in Mrs. Vensel’s name may be made to the Chicora Alliance Church, P.O. Box 251, Chicora, PA 16025 or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network www.pancan.org/donate.   Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora.
