Richard D. "Rich" Macefe Obituary

Richard D. “Rich” Macefe, 75, of East Brady, Sugarcreek Twp., Armstrong Co., passed away Tuesday evening, July 29, 2025 at Quality Life Services Chicora.

Richard was born in Butler on August 13, 1949.  He was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Kerner Macefe.

He attended school in Butler and was a member of St. Paul Community Church in Chicora.  Rich retired following many years of service in the housekeeping department at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Rich enjoyed turkey and deer hunting and riding his quad.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margery Elaine Moore Macefe, whom he married at St. Paul Community Church on August 4, 1990.  Mrs. Macefe passed away on January 8, 2019.

He is survived by a daughter, Tammy, two sisters, Mary Ann Scarpitti and Theresa Mitchell; two brothers, Dave Macefe and John Macefe; his cousin and long time caregiver, Brenda Lewis of Conneaut Lake, as well as a number of nieces and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son and brother.

Friends will be received at St. Paul Community Church, 2167 SR 268, Chicora, from 11 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Monday.  A funeral service will follow from the church at Noon with the Rev. Frank Sapp Jr., church pastor, officiating.  Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Community Church.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora.  Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
