Michael W. Long Obituary

Michael W. Long, 46, of Oil City (formerly of Emlenton), died Wednesday, September 18, 2024, following a brief illness.

He was born October 24, 1977 in Franklin.  Mike was the son of the late William H. and Connie L. (Myers) Long.

Mike was the most gentle guy you could know.  He would do anything for anyone.  His heart was big for others and he had a laughter that could light up the room.  He loved being around his friends and family, especially his two nephews, Jonathan and Carter Olmstead.  Mike was a “tech guy” and loved playing video games and doing podcasts online.  If you knew Mike, you knew that you had a friend for life.

Mike’s most recent employment was at UPMC Northwest Hospital, where he made many close friends.  He and his close friend Brandon Turner would host WWE parties and enjoy the show!

Mike is survived by his sister, Jennifer Olmstead and her husband Steve and their sons Jonathan and Carter Olmstead of Oil City; and brothers David Long of Franklin, and Kevin Long and his wife Shelia of St. Petersburg.

Also surviving is his uncle and aunt Garry and Pat Myers of Smethport; aunt Mary Ellen Hall of Indiana; uncle and aunt Brad and Karen Myers of Missouri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Bill and Connie Long, Mike was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Emma Jenny Long; two aunts, Sylvia Deloe and Suzanne Planker; and two uncles, Dewayne Deloe and Joe Hall.

There will be no funeral service held at this time.  A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Private funeral arrangements are being completed by Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca.
