Mary Eileen Wagner, 86, of North Riverview Drive, Parker, passed away early Friday morning, July 7, 2023 at Grove City Medical Center.
Mary Eileen was born in Knoxville on January 12, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Gerald and Marie Brennan McLay.
She was a graduate of St. Francis Academy in Whitehall and in her earlier years had been employed in the dietary department at St. Clair Hospital and later as a cook at the corporate headquarters of PNC Bank. Eileen was a long time active and devoted member of St. Michael The Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Emlenton and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Eileen enjoyed helping at the church’s funeral dinners and fish fries.
Eileen and her husband were active in the Emlenton community and were honored as Emlenton’s Citizens of the year in 2006. Eileen had a heart and concern for Emlenton’s first responders, always listening to her scanner and praying for the safety of Emlenton’s firemen, medical personnel and police. She had been a member of the Emlenton Kiwanis Club. Eileen was a devoted wife and homemaker and is survived by her husband, Wilbert G. “Will” Wagner, whom she married at the Resurrection Roman Catholic Church in Brookline on December 19, 1955.
Also surviving are two daughters, Joan Kelly and her husband, Chuck, of Pittsburgh and Colleen Bahr and her husband, James, of Smithton; a sister, Kathleen Milcic of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Katie (Kelly) O’Keefe and her husband, Bernie, Chuck Kelly and his wife, Justina, James Bahr Sr. and Jacquie Springer and her husband, Michael; 12 great grandchildren, Kelly, Elly, “Bubba”, and Joey O’Keefe, Chuck and Peter Kelly, Lili, Audrey, Noah, and Lucas Bahr, April and Sarah Springer, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Avenue, Emlenton, from 3 – 6 p.m. Sunday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday from St. Michael The Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 807 Chestnut Street, Emlenton with the Rev. Johnathan Schmolt, church pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Emlenton.
