Leo Ratcliff Obituary

Leo R. Ratcliff Sr., 51, of Ratcliff Lane, Slippery Rock, formerly of Fenelton, “went home to go fishin’” late Saturday evening, April 3, 2021 at the home of his grandmother in Summit Twp. while surrounded by his family. Leo was born in Butler on November 9, 1969. He was the son of Larry R. and Nancy Lee Mohan Ratcliff of Slippery Rock. He was a 1987 graduate of Butler High School.
 
He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Herman. Leo was self-employed for many years in the construction trade. Leo was the well-known and familiar face of the bar bouncer to many area patrons. He had been an avid weight lifter and body builder. Leo enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, collecting bottles, especially Crown Royal bottles, and traveling and visiting casinos.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Gloria Reott of Butler; his children, Leo R. Ratcliff Jr. and his girlfriend, Darien Metheney of Fenelton, Larry J. Ratcliff of Jacksonville, FL, and Brandon J. Ratcliff and his fiancé, Korina Smith of Worthington; his grandsons, Jaxon, Nicholas, and Blake, and was expecting the birth of his first granddaughter soon; his sister, Tina L. Giddings and her husband, Brian of Dorset, OH; his nephews, Logan and Luke; his former wife and the children’s mother, Kristen Ratcliff Davis, of Kittanning, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Leo was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Norma Ratcliff, his maternal grandfather, Leo Mohan, his maternal step grandfather, Edward Reott, and a cousin, Bobby McIntire.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from Noon – 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. A Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Lou Pascazi, parochial vicar of St. Clare and St. Francis Parishes in Butler County, officiating.
