Joy Lynn (Ott) Krahe

Joy Lynn Krahe, 70, of Chestnut Ridge Rd., Emlenton, went peacefully to be with the Lord Monday morning, December 2, 2024 in the comfort of her family surrounded by her loved ones after a 6 year courageous battle with cancer.

Joy was born in Pittsburgh on September 22, 1954.  She was the daughter of Charles Ott and the late Shirl Patton Ott.

She was a graduate of North Hills High School.  Joy had been employed as an administrative and executive secretary at various companies, charities and churches, the U.S. Postal Service, and provided childcare in her home.  Joy had a heart of gold, and loved spending time with her family, most especially her grandchildren, beach vacations, and walks in the woods.  She was a faithful member of the Turkey City Church of God, The Al Anon Group, and a volunteer at the AAA Pregnancy Center.  Joy served as a youth leader and was a peer specialist at Roads to Recovery.  She loved spending time in prayer with her Lord and contemplating her favorite Bible verse, Phillipians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Joy was married at St. Luke Church in Westview on October 2, 1982 to Henry Paul Krahe II, who survives.  Also surviving are three children, Jacqueline M. Krahe Hobgood and her husband, Courtney, of Gatesville, TX, Paul Michael Krahe and his wife, Theresa, of Grove City, and Adam Robert Krahe and his wife, Heather, of Corsica; six grandchildren, Kayylie, Kylee, Khloe, Kaselynn, Kamrynne, and Kolden; her father, Charles Ott and his wife, Bernice, of Penn Hills; her brothers, Charles Ott of Baden, Larry Ott and his wife, Laura, of Wexford and Dan Ott of New Castle; a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary Kay and Kyle Richardson, Nancy Krahe, Lisa and Albert Young, Mark (Jane) Krahe, and Dee Dee Krahe, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton from 1-6 p.m. Thursday.  A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 6 p.m. with her church pastor, Rev.
