John M. Slovinsky, 84, of Lisbon Rd., Kennerdell, passed away late Monday evening, December 2, 2024 while in the company of his loving wife and family.
John was born in Princeton, NJ on October 6, 1940. He was the son of John V. and Gertrude Steelman Slovinsky.
He was a graduate of Middlesex County Vo-Tech School in New Brunswick, NJ and was an over the road truck driver for many years and most recently retired from SJM Unlimited hauling mail. John enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a long time active member of the Clintonville Fire Department Fire Police Unit. Surviving is his wife, Deborah A. Shaffer Slovinsky, whom he married in Clintonville on August 29, 1998. She was the love of his life and took special care of him since his accident in September 2023.
Also surviving are his children, Donna M. Lins and her husband, Steve, of North Brunswick, NJ, Michael W. Slovinsky and his wife, Debbie, of East Brunswick, NJ, Darlene Martin and her husband, John, of Cream Ridge, NJ, Diane Hutchins of Browns Mills, NJ, and Doreen Wolf and her husband, Scott, of East Brunswick, NJ; his brothers, Vincent Slovinsky and his wife, Judy, of East Brunswick, NJ, Michael Slovinsky of Ft. Lee, NJ, and Martin Slovinsky and his, wife, Tripa, of Yorktown, VA; his step children, whom he loved as his own, Rebecca Malone and her husband, Kevin, of Polk, Tasha Seeker and her husband, William, of Franklin, and Gerald Marzik and his wife, Shanon, of Emlenton; eight grandchildren, Denise, Stephanie, Steven, Angel, Bristol, Cheyenne, Taylor, and Logan, 15 great grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Jenza, Justice, Izaya, Gage, Alexis, Kadence, and Ashlynn; four step great grandchildren. His furbabies, “Sadie, Chrissy, Chloe, Midnight, Ruby, Trixie, and Nixie,” will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, John Jr. and Dawn; two wives, Joan Slovinsky and Barb Slovinsky, and a brother, Franklin Slovinsky.
Special thanks to Rebecca and Kevin Malone, his hospice team, especially Cheryl McLaughlin, and his special caretaker, his granddaughter, “Curly Sue.”
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., Emlenton from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with a special friend Alesha Hartsfield, officiating. Interment will be in Clintonville Methodist Cemetery. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
