Jerry R. Smith Jr.

Jerry R. Smith Jr. of Greeley, Colorado, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024.

Jerry was born in Greely, Colorado on February 15, 1957.  He was the son of the late Jerry R. Smith and Patricia J. and William J. Young of Emlenton.

He graduated from Platte Valley High School in Kersey, Colorado.  Jerry worked at a dairy farm and many construction jobs throughout his life.  He loved to fish, go to casinos, gold mine, and hunt.  He was of the Catholic faith and several masses will be said for him.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, Jerry is survived by his sisters, Kathryn R. Merchant of Longmont, CO, Kristine A. Alworth of Parker, and Marjorie Shannon (Jason) Buzard of Harrisville and his brothers, Douglas A. Smith of Academy, Texas and John A. Young of Oil City.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ethel Wales, Dean Smith, and Helen and Albert Knespel; his sister, Karolyn Jo Lominski; a nephew, George W. Crum; a niece, Amanda Smith, and a brother-in-law, Mark Alworth.
