James Russell “Jim” Savage, 65, of Kennerdell, Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by his loving mother and family early Wednesday morning, May 27, 2026 at his home.
James was born in Franklin on October 14, 1960. He was the son of Mary A. McGinnis Savage of Kennerdell and the late Walter E. “John” Savage. He was a 1980 graduate of Allegheny Clarion Valley High School in Foxburg. Jim enjoyed trapping, hunting and woodworking as well as the company of his family and friends. He was employed as a mechanic for Hovis Auto Wrecking in Lisbon.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings: Richard A. Savage of Kennerdell, Christine Lesnick and her husband Dale, and Curtis Dale Savage and his wife Darlene all of Emlenton; his aunts and uncles: Phyllis McGinnis of Kennerdell, Elaine Shirey of Parker, John and Marian McGinnis of Chester, WV, Thomas and Romaine McGinnis of Knox, and George and Kris McGinnis of Corsica; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings: Pamela J. Savage, Marcus W. Savage, William D. Savage, and Robert L. Savage and his wife Kathy, his grandparents and great grandparents, as well as a number of aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home, Inc. 1204 Kerr Ave. Emlenton, from 1-3pm and 6-8pm Friday. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11am Saturday with the Rev. Dave Smith, pastor of the Franklin Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will be in Scrubgrass Stone Church Cemetery in Scrubgrass Township.
