Harriet McClaine Obituary

Harriet E. McClaine, 80, of Chicora, Sugarcreek Twp., Armstrong Co., passed away early Thursday morning, October 6, 2022 at her residence following a brief illness.


Harriet was born in East Brady on February 1, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Viola Snyder Howard.


She was a 1960 graduate of East Brady High School. Harriet was a homemaker and enjoyed dancing, painting, quilting, yard saleing, antiquing, and family genealogy. Harriet had a strong Christian faith, and enjoyed attending many of the area's churches. 


She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald M. McClaine, whom she married at St. Eubseius Roman Catholic Church in East Brady on June 1, 1963. 


Surviving is a daughter, Ruth E. Cochran and her husband, Brian, of Chicora; a daughter-in-law, Penny Switzer McClaine of Rimersburg; her grandchildren, Jeremy M. McClaine and his wife, Emily, of Youngstown, OH, Evan McClaine and his wife, Samantha, of Sligo, Colin Cochran and his wife, Brittany, of Chicora, Brittany Heasley and her husband, Christopher, of Dubois; six great grandchildren, Tessa, Elliana, Kinsley, Makenna, Parker, Addilyn; her longtime companion, David Early; a sister, Shirley Loose, of Chicora, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey and an infant daughter, Sharon, one brother and one sister.


Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main Street, Karns City, from 11 am – 1 p.m. and from 3 – 4 pm. Saturday. A funeral service will follow from the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Wallace, pastor of the Chicora Alliance Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. Eusebius Cemetery, East Brady.
