Gale R. Hillwig Bradley, 77, of Chicora, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday afternoon, February 15, 2022, at the Oertel Care Center at Concordia.

Born in Franklin on August 5, 1944, Gale was the daughter of the late Russell W. and Mary T. Beck Hillwig.

She was a 1963 graduate of Fairview Township Karns City High School.  Gale resided in Louisiana for a number of years.  She was employed for ten years by the St. Tammany Humane Society in Covington, LA.   She operated a pet sitting service and was known for her love of animals and her involvement in their rescue.  Gale enjoyed bowling with the “Who Dat” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” bowling teams in Mandeville, LA, having won several patches and pins.  Gale returned to Chicora several years ago and had attended the Chicora Alliance Church.  She had been a member of the Women of The Moose, and had been on the Chicora Light Up Night Committee.  Gale was always quick to accept an invitation from any family or friends for a road trip.

Gale is survived by two sons, Larry Paul Crispen and his wife, Jennifer of Kittanning and Michael David Crispen and his companion, Sandra Campbell of Chicora; five grandchildren, Kasey, Katelyn, Michael Jr., Ashley and Jacob Crispen; two great grandchildren, Scarlet and Wrenleigh Rae Crispen of East Brady; two sisters, Dottie Kelsea and Rusann Anderson of Chicora, and nine nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Gale was preceded in death by her twin sister, Diane Fennell.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, from 5 – 8 p.m.  Thursday.  A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 8:00 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Wallace, pastor of Chicora Alliance Church, officiating.  Interment will be beside her twin sister in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugarcreek Twp., Armstrong Co.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.  Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
