Edward J. Smith

Edward J. “Ed” Smith, Jr., 65, of Fenelton, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Jan. 26, 2021, at his residence.
Edward was born in Kittanning, on June 12, 1955. He was the son of Peggy Ann Taylor Smith, of Chicora, and the late Edward J. Smith, Sr.
Ed was a graduate of Kittanning High School. He had been employed at both, Pullman Standard and Trinity in Butler.
Ed was very close with his grandson, Cody, and enjoyed fishing trips with him to Erie, and hunting trips. Ed enjoyed the company of his long-time caretakers, his grandson, Cody, “sister” Amy, Susan Kochan and his good friend, Marsha, from Montana. Ed enjoyed never missed one of Cody’s Motocross Races. 
In addition to his mother, Ed is survived by his grandson, Cody Smith and his girlfriend, Jessica Pinkerton, of Boyers; a granddaughter, Izabelle Smith, of West Sunbury; three sisters: Ann Livengood and her husband, Dave, of Ford City, Amy Stevenson and her husband, Jay, of East Brady and Dorinda Quinn, of Cortland, Ohio; a brother, Shaun Smith and his wife, Rhonda, of Fenelton; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his father, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Codispot Smith; a son, Edward Smith, III; and his paternal grandmother, Josephine Smith.
There will be no public service.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora.
