Donald W. Hetrick, 73, of Chicora, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Sunday evening, June 2, 2024 at his home.
Donald was born in Butler on May 27, 1951. He was the son of the late Donald C. and Helen A. Hipple Hetrick.
He was a 1969 graduate of Karns City Area High School and had served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Don was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Chicora.
Don retired in 2010 following more than 41 years of service with Armco in Butler. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding the birds, growing tomato plants and spending time relaxing in his garage. Don was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Chicora.
He is survived his wife, Margaret B. “Peggy” Uenking Hetrick, whom he married at Mater Dolorosa Church in Chicora on September 30, 1978. Two children survive, Lindsey A. Hetrick of Sugarcreek Twp. and Brian W. Hetrick and his wife, Amber, of East Brady; a sister, Carolyn Rodgers and her husband, Fred, of Chicora, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sisters.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora. Interment will be in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora. The family requests memorial contributions be given to the Chicora Fire Dept., PO Box F, Chicora, PA 16025. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
