Dean was born in West Sunbury on May 2, 1955. He was the son of the late Ralph and Frances McGregor Sutton.

He attended public school in the Moniteau School District. Dean was a long time truck driver and had been employed at McCleary Christie Trucking and was a truck driver and equipment foreman for Spangler Brothers Paving. Dean was well-known among his friends and family for enjoying an ice cold Pepsi and a Marlboro Slim Select.

Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Karen L. Slagle, who passed away on October 5, 2017.

He is survived by a son, Chad J. Sutton and his wife, Jeannie of Barkeyville; a daughter, Charity S. Dimit and her husband, Jeff, of Slippery Rock. He was affectionately “Granddad, Grandpa, and Tada” to his much loved grandchildren, Samatha Sutton (Josh), Jackie Sutton, Sara Sutton, and Savannah Gordon. Also surviving is a sister, Mae Noah of Saxonburg; his wife Karen’s son, Tim Slagle and his wife, Machelle, and their children, Tyler W. Slagle, Matthew J. Slagle, and Alyssa M. Slagle, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
