David E. McCullough, 74, of Karns City, Brady’s Bend Township, Armstrong County, went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, December 6, 2025 at his home.
David was born in Butler on April 13, 1951. He was the son of the late Alvin Meade and Ruth C. McKee McCullough. He was a graduate of Knoch High School and was first employed at Pangborn in Butler and retired following 30 years of service at Armstrong Cement. David was affectionately “Pap” to his grandchildren who were the light of his life. David enjoyed the company of his family and looked forward to attending his grandkids sporting events. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora.
David was preceded in death by his wife Ruth A. Young McCullough whom he married in Gibsonia on April 22, 1972. Mrs. McCullough passed away on April 30, 2021.
He is survived by two daughters, Melissa A. Burkhouse and her husband Richard of East Brady and Melinda Jeffers and her husband William of Cowansville. Five Grandchildren survive: Cody A. Davis and his fiancee Sierra Mckinney, Chelsea M. Thompson – Elko and her husband Blake, Makayla L. Jeffers, Mackenzie R. Jeffers and Mackenna M. Jeffers, two great grandsons, Jackson and Alexander Thompson. David was looking forward to the birth of his third great grandchild in July. Two sisters survive, Barbara St. Vincent of Virginia and Nancy L. Sepich and her husband Jerry of Saxonburg, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a sister in law.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Larry McCullough.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 1-3 and 6-8pm Thursday, December 11 A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11am Friday, December 12 with the Rev. Joseph Boomhower, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillview Cemetery in the Village of Kepple’s Corners.
