Cheryl D. “Cherie” Sankey, 71, of Butler, passed away Friday afternoon, April 29, 2022. She was reunited with her husband on what would have been their 50th wedding anniversary.
Cheryl was born in Atterbury, Indiana on March 29, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Eunice Bullman Ealy.
She was 1969 graduate of Moniteau High School and was a member of The Concord Presbyterian Church in Hooker. Cheryl was employed as a secretary at Butler Memorial Hospital, having retired following 43 years of service.
Surviving are two children, Jennifer N. Geibel of Butler and Jarrod P. Sankey and his wife, Christina “Tina”, of Hilliards; four grandchildren, Wyatt J. and Owen D. Geibel and Kendall M. and Brendin M. Sankey; a brother, Ronald “Ron” Ealy and his wife, Kim, of Hilliards; her mother-in-law, Helen Sankey, of West Sunbury; a special friend, Denny, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents, Cherie was preceded in death by her husband, Larry A. Sankey, on April 20, 1994.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 3-7 p.m. Monday. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Edmundson, pastor of the Concord Presbyterian Church, officiating. Private family interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
