Charles W. “Chuck” Cotherman, 71, of St. Petersburg, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Charles was born in Clarion County, on July 10, 1949. He was the son of the late Charley W. and Sarah Whitling Cotherman. He was a graduate of Allegheny Clarion Valley High School in Foxburg, and retired from Gardenscape. He enjoyed hunting, working on model cars, and was an antique car enthusiast. He most especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Emily. Chuck was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam Era.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Bell Cotherman on September 6, 2013. The couple was married in Clarion on May 20, 1970.
He is survived by four children, Charles Scott Cotherman, Michael E. Cotherman, and Kimberly A. Cotherman, all of St. Petersburg, and Roy A. Cotherman (Barb Pisor), of Butler; a granddaughter, Emily D. Cotherman of Butler; eight bothers, Floyd Cotherman of Sligo, Daniel Cotherman (Sandy) of Meadville, William “Bill” Cotherman of Emlenton, Lawrence “Larry” Cotherman (Devra) of Maryland, Thomas “Tom” Cotherman (Charlene) of Shippenville, Walter Cotherman (Carla) of Rimersburg, Jeffrey “Jeff” Cotherman (Deb) of Kennerdell and Ronald “Ron” Cotherman of St. Petersburg; two sisters, Jean Myers (Kenny) of St. Petersburg, and Linda Hepler (Loni) of Knox; his brothers in law, Ken, Scott, and Ron Bell, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be officiated by the Rev. Wade Barto, pastor of the Knox United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors will take place beside his wife at Zion Union Cemetery in Emlenton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home Inc. of St. Petersburg.
