Catherine F. "Cathy" Roithner Obituary

Catherine F. “Cathy” Roithner, 84, of Emlenton, formerly of Library, went to be with the Lord while in the company of her loving family Tuesday morning, February 3, 2026 at Quality Life Services in Grove City.

Catherine was born on February 17, 1941 in Coraopolis where she grew up.  She was the daughter of the late James and Cecilia Connelly Shoop.

She was a graduate of Coraopolis High School.  Cathy enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and taking walks.  She was a loyal Elvis Presley fan and visited his home at Graceland.  Catherine was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a long time member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Emlenton.

Catherine was married in Coraopolis on September 14, 1962 to Robert Allen “Bob” Roithner.  Mr. Roithner passed away on August 1, 2021.

Surviving are three daughters, Sue E. Johnson and her husband, Gary of Chicora, Lisa A. Fonner and her husband, John of Emlenton, and Diane L. Flick and her husband, Brian of Mercer; six grandchildren, Laurel and her husband Tyler, Angell and her husband, Josh, Ashlee, Abigail and her significant other, Thomas Smith, Hunter, and Devon; six great grandchildren, Annie, Sequoia, John Henry, Petra, Atlas, and Sophia, and Catherine was looking forward to the birth of two more great grandchildren soon.  Also surviving is a brother, Francis “Butch” Maienfisch of Ft. Worth, TX; three sisters, Cecelia “Sally” Shoop of Pittsburgh, Roberta “Bobbie” Bell and Karen Coley, both of Coraopolis, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and two brothers-in-law.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Shoop and a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Friends will be received at the First Church of God, 1333 West Main St., Grove City, from 10 a.m.-12 Noon Saturday, February 7.  A funeral service will follow at Noon from the church with Pastor Amy Worline, chaplain of Quality Life Services, officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 3727 Oneida Valley Rd., Emlenton, PA 16373 or Don’t Stop Dreamin’, 612 North Main Street, Butler, PA 16001 or at dontstopdreamin.org.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home Inc., Emlenton.
