William E. “Bill” Robb Sr., 89, of Chicora, formerly of Donora, passed away Friday morning, July 20, 2018 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
William was born in Donora, Washington County, on August 03, 1928. He was the son of the late William D. and Susanna Schuyler Robb.
He was of the Catholic faith. Bill enjoyed hunting, traveling, gun smithing, and farming. He retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of General Services where he had worked as a building inspector and an electrician. Bill had served in the United States Merchant Marines.
Bill is survived by five children: William E. Robb Jr. and his wife, Vicki, of Phoenix, AZ; Sandra Dawson, of Pittsburgh, Catherine Siweckyj and her husband, John, of Pittsburgh, Rachael Robb, of Whitehall, and Rodney W. Robb and his wife, Alyssa, of Chicora. Nine grandchildren survive: Lisa, Mia, Jeremy, William, Anthony, John, Alexa, Gracey and Carley, a sister, Mary Sue Vandeven and her husband, William, of Wentzville, MO, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Robb.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 4-7p.m. on Monday. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Barbara Stoehr, pastor of the Butler First United Methodist Church, officiating.
