Patricia A. McCollough, 87, of Renfrew, formerly of Chicora, passed away Sunday morning, September 23, 2018 at her home with her loving and devoted husband of 69 years at her side.
Patricia was born in the village of Goosetown, near Chicora, on October 10, 1930. She was the daughter of the late C. Elwyn and Ora Vensel Craig.
She was a 1948 graduate of Chicora High School and had worked for C. G. McCormick as a bookkeeper and bus driver for special needs children for Clarence Brown School for 44 years. Pat was a long time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora. She was a life member of the Chicora Chapter #354, Butler Chapter #45 Order of the Eastern Star and was a long time member of the former Chicora Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to Florida and taking cruises.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Stanley A. McCollough, whom she married on July 19, 1949 at the Hope Lutheran Church in Oil City.
Also surviving is a brother, Eugene “Pud” Craig and his wife, Shirley, of Chicora, a sister-in-law, Ruth M. Craig of Chicora, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, as well as many loving friends, neighbors, and caregivers.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert “Sparky” Craig and Kenneth Craig and his wife, Fern, a nephew, John R. Craig, as well as a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 1 – 3 and 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday and on Wednesday from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. A funeral service will follow from the church at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Boomhower, church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Cemetery, Kepple’s Corners. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Rd., Chicora, PA 16025. The Butler Chapter #45 Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
