Nancy L. Stewart, 85, of Emlenton, passed away late Friday evening, June 22, 2018.
Nancy was born in St. Petersburg on November 20, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Lewis B. Carroll and Nelda Grazier Carroll Boorech.
She was a homemaker and in her earlier years enjoyed canning. Nancy was well known for her annual garage sale during Emlenton’s Summer Festival. She enjoyed playing bingo, visiting casinos, the company of family and friends, and especially looked forward to outings with her sister, Janet.
Nancy was married to Paul L. Stewart in Callensburg on June 25, 1949. Mr. Stewart preceded her in death on October 11, 2001.
She is survived by seven children, Larry P. Stewart and his companion, Jane, of St. Petersburg, Debra Perry and her husband, Bob, of Emlenton, Bonnie Richmond and Barry Sullivan of St. Petersburg, Susan Winans and her husband, LeRoy, of Emlenton, Thomas Stewart and his wife, April, of Monroe, Todd Stewart and his companion, Teri, of Alum Rock, and Denise Stewart and Chuck Beals of Emlenton; a sister, Janet Levy and a brother, James “Jim” Boorech, both of Emlenton. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Lynsay, Julie, Jason, Amy, Andrea, Mike, Brandon, and Andy; ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki L. Terwilliger, who passed away on June 11, 2011, and infant children, Brenda Jean and Gary Lee; a grandson, Rodney Richmond, a sister, Pauline Stewart, and two brothers-in-law, Dick Levy and Leo Stewart.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Monday. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dan Myers, a retired Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery, Parker.
