Michelle R. (McElravy) Thomas

Michelle R. “Missy” (McElravy) Thomas, 52, of Chicora, went to be with the Lord early Friday Morning, August 10, 2018, at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.

Michelle was born in Butler on April 16, 1966.  She was the daughter of Henrietta Cousins McElravy, of Chicora, and the late Lester E. McElravy.  Missy was a lifelong member of the Karns City Church of God of Prophecy.  Michelle was a 1984 graduate of Karns City Area High School.  She was a long time, well known bank teller at Nextier Bank in Chicora and was highly respected by her co-workers and customers.  Missy enjoyed riding on the Harley with her husband, reading, and most especially the company of her children and grandchildren. 

Michelle is survived by her husband, David E. Thomas of Chicora, whom she married in Karns City on April 02, 2017.  Also surviving are two children, Brittney E. Smith and her husband, Cody, and Colt M. Karenbauer, all of Chicora; two grandchildren, Connor and Madelyn Smith, of Chicora; a step son, David L. Thomas and his companion, Melinda Curl, of Butler; two step grandchildren, Abygael and Elianna Thomas, both of Butler; three sisters, Victoria Polaski and Pamela Vogel and her husband, Pete, of Cranberry Township, and Leslie Hegburg and her husband, Dan, of Karns City, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, a number of aunts, uncles, and a niece. 

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 6-8pm Sunday and from 1-3 and 6-8pm Monday.  A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11am Tuesday with Bishop Jay Croyle, Presiding Bishop of the Church of God of Prophecy in Pennsylvania, Bishop Ronald Roudebush and Rev. O.J. Roudebush Church of God of Prophecy Pastors, co-officiating.  Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County.  Memorial contributions in Mrs. Thomas’ name may be made to the Karns City Church of God of Prophecy, 1510 Kittanning Pike, Karns City, PA 16041.  For more information, or to send a condolence, please visit www.hilefh.com.
