Kathleen Marie Conti

Kathleen Marie “Kap” Conti, 58. Of Emlenton, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, June 23, 2017.

Kathleen was born in Grove City on December 2, 1958, She was the daughter of the late William P. and Ruth G. Strouse McDowell.

Kap was a 1977 graduate of AC Valley High School in Foxburg, she was married in Boyers on May 18, 1985 to Joseph R. “Joe” Conti. Joe preceded her in death on May 3, 2015. Kathy had been employed by Cooper Bessemer in Grove City for a number of years, and took great pride that she had been the first woman ever hired to operate a hi-lift.

Kathy was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Emlenton. Kap loved her kitties, gardening and flowers, and being a grandmother. She enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She was a kind-hearted and generous person, and those who knew her always said she would have given the shirt off her back and more to help someone in need.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Crystal Conti, of Emlenton; her first and only granddaughter, Jaylin; her sister, Eileen Gordon and her husband, Howard, of Emlenton; a brother, William P. McDowell Jr., and his wife, Debbie, of Fayette City; her niece, Jennifer Gordon Harrington, and her husband, Tom, and their daughter, Emily, of State College; her mother-in-law, Marion Butler, of Greenville; her sister-in-law, Cindy Conti, as well as two nephews, Danny and Jimmy.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Tuesday. A funeral service will follow at noon from the funeral home with Msgr. Robert L. Brugger, administrator at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Emlenton.
