Gloria Jordan Obituary

Gloria R. Jordan, 77, of Bruin, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at Butler Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.

Gloria was born in Petrolia on July 25, 1940.  She was the daughter of the late Florence Snow Texter Erdos Fair, the step daughter of the late Michael Erdos and the daughter of the late Kenneth Texter.

She had been part of the family business, Jordan's Amoco, in Bruin for many years.

Mrs. Jordan was an avid and skilled bowler at Bruin Lanes for more than 42 years, participating in and winning many tournaments.  She enjoyed embroidery, crossword puzzles, and playing 500.  Gloria was a homemaker and excellent baker.  She was well known for her cakes, which she made for family and friends.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Jack A. Jordan Sr., whom she married in Petrolia on June 29, 1957.  The couple had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last June.  Also surviving are four children, Susen C. Hilliard and her husband, Dennis, of Parker, Jackie A. Jordan Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Bruin, Rodney S. Jordan and his wife, Tracy, of North Washington, Bernard A. Jordan and his wife, Mary Jane, of Butler; nine grandchildren, Corey and his wife, Diana, Casey and his wife, Jessica, Tiffany and her fiancé, Eddie, Alisha and her husband, Bob, Stefanie and her husband, Dean, Michael, Nichole and her husband, John, Candice and her fiancé, Justin, and Katie; sixteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Texter and his wife, Wilma, of Karns City and Richard Erdos and his wife, Diane, of Michigan; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandy Fronaberger and Joyce Erdos.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday.  A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Friday with the Rev.  Bob Huber, pastor of North Street Christian Church, Butler, officiating.  Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Bruin VFD, PO Box 1, Bruin, PA 16022 or Petrolia Fire Dept.
