Charles Denny Klingensmith, 77, of Emlenton, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
He was born on May 7, 1941 in Leechburg to Charles S. and Mabel Hagen Klingensmith.
He graduated from California University of PA and taught Industrial Arts at Allegheny-Clarion Valley Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a subcontractor for Sonneborn, formerly Witco, for many years. He also worked for several other businesses in the Petrolia area.
Denny is survived by his wife, JoAnne. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in August.
Also surviving are two children, Tim Klingensmith and his wife, Chrissy, of Glen Mills, and Denise Kornbau of Wexford; five grandchildren, Sydney, Serena, and Sage Klingensmith and Seth and Nathaniel Kornbau; a brother, Dave Klingensmith and his wife, Barb, of Leechburg; his brothers-in-law, Don Lemmon and his wife, Kathy, of Oregon and Dean Crissman, as well as a number of nieces, nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Glee Crissman.
A memorial service for will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Emlenton United Methodist Church, 1303 Kerr Avenue, Emlenton, with the Rev. Pat Confer, retired pastor and family friend, and the Rev. James Graham, officiating.
