Betty M. Shoup, 88, Orlando, Florida, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018, from pneumonia & heart failure.
She was born on November 6, 1929, in Emlenton, PA, to Raymond D. and Dorothy (Tietsworth) Sollinger.
Betty met her husband, Edward E. Shoup, at the local skating rink. After graduating from Emlenton High School, she married and moved to Orlando, FL, where she raised five children. Betty worked in the cafeteria at Pershing Elementary School and as a medical courier for Derrick & Associates. Her hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and cross stitch. After retiring, she and her husband became snowbirds traveling between Emlenton, PA and St. Cloud, FL.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Janice L. Croyle of Chicora, PA, her brother, Jimmy Sollinger of Allentown, PA; her husband, Ed, and one son, Alan D. Shoup. She is survived by her daughter; Gail M. Duggan of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, and three sons, Mark I. Shoup (& Patty) of Bell, FL, Dale R. Shoup (&Carol) of Quemado, NM, and Kirk L. Shoup of Apopka, FL; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Virginia Kyle of Huntersville, NC, and Wilma Wolfe of Knox, PA; and many treasured nieces, nephews and friends.
