William Barlett Obituary

William S. “Bill” Barlett, 79, of St. Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Shippenville Healthcare.

William was born in Richland Twp., Clarion County on December 30, 1938.  He was the son of the late William J. and Bertha F. Martin Barlett.

He attended  St. Petersburg School and was of the protestant faith.   He retired from Industrial Colloids, and in his earlier years had been employed at Hovis Trucking and Emil Long.

Bill enjoyed hunting, gardening, and rototilling gardens for his neighbors around St. Petersburg, visiting the area restaurants for breakfast, and the company of his dog, “Chubs”.  He was well known car enthusiast and enjoyed detailing vehicles and refinishing antique furniture.

Bill was married to Donna Kagle Barlett.

Surviving are two daughters, Dora B. Hovis and her husband, Ron, of St. Petersburg and Melinda Pennington of Ellwood City; five grandchildren, Aaron, Adam, Ryan, Ashley, and Cheyanne; one brother, Leroy S. “Sam” Barlett and his wife, Midge, of St. Petersburg and two sisters, Dorothy Sloan and her husband, Don Ray, of Emlenton, and Marlene Reisinger and her husband, Lewis, of Rockland; a sister-in-law, Connie Barlett of Dade City, FL, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, James P. Barlett.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 802 Grove St., St. Petersburg, from 1 – 3 and 6 – 8 p.m. Friday.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Myers, a retired Methodist pastor, officiating.  Interment will be in Richland Presbyterian Cemetery, near Emlenton.  For additional information or to send a condolence, please visit www.hilefh.com.
