Simon Jacob Miller

Simon Jacob Miller, 30, of Old Rt. 422, Fenelton, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, October 16, 2016.

Simon was born in Kittanning on Sept 22, 1986. He was the son of Sylvia Miller Adams and the step-son of Francis R. Adams, of Fenelton. Simon attended grade school at St. Luke Lutheran School in Cabot and was a 2005 graduate of Butler High School. He attended Butler County Community College and Slippery Rock University. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, in Cabot.

Simon had a great love for music, he was a Penguins fan, an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking. He was a compassionate and caring person who took great pride and pleasure in helping others. Simon enjoyed the company of his family, and was well-liked by many friends and acquaintances.

In addition to his mother and step-father, Simon is survived by a brother, Lucas R. Adams, of Fenelton; a sister, Amanda Miller, of New Castle; his maternal grandmother, Ethel Smith, of Fenelton; his paternal grandmother, Elsie Geibel, of Butler; his uncle and aunt, James and Kathy Smith, of Martinsburg, WV; his paternal step-grandmother, Phyllis Hess of Slate Lick; his paternal step-grandfather, Francis R. Adams Sr., of Curtisville, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Simon was preceded in death by his father.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora-Fenelton Rd., Chicora from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot with church pastor Barry Keurulainen, officiating. Interment will be in St. Luke Cemetery.
