Ronald A. Dodd

Ronald A. "Butch" Dodd Sr. 68, of Magnolia Road, Karns City, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in the Emergency Department at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Ronald was born in Butler on June 11, 1949.  He was the son of the late Howard and Catherine Stadnyk Dodd.

Ron was 1967 graduate of Karns City High School.  Mr. Dodd served six years in the U.S Army Reserves.  He had been employed for more than 38 years at INDSPEC Chemical Corporation in Petrolia, retiring as a machinist in 2007.

Mr. Dodd was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora.  He enjoyed hunting, working on his classic car, and spending time with his grandkids and attending their activities. 

Ron is survived by his wife, Phyllis McCollough Dodd, whom he married at the First Lutheran Church in Chicora on June 24, 1972.  Also surviving are four children, Lisa Callihan and her husband, Trent, of Chicora, Christine Miller and her husband, Jamie, of East Brady, Ronald Dodd Jr. and his wife, Joni, of Karns City, and Daniel Dodd and his wife, Alicia, of Chicora; ten grandchildren, Abigail and Allyson Callihan, Taylor, Rylee, and Cooper Miller, Eric and Nathan Dodd, Paige, Sarah, and Katie Dodd; a brother, Joe Dodd of Petrolia, and a sister, Cathy Mullen and her husband, Paul, of Mercer, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Smith.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora from 1 – 3 and 6 – 8 p.m. Friday.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Road, Chicora with the Rev.
