Robert W. Makuch

Robert W. “Bob” Makuch, 62, of College Street, a long-time Emlenton businessman, died Sunday, October 15, 2017 shortly after his arrival in the emergency department at Clarion Hospital from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident in Richland Twp., Clarion County.

Robert was born in Oil City on September 30, 1955.  He was the son of Steve and Ann Yankovich Makuch.

Bob was of the Methodist faith. He was a 1973 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School in Foxburg and was a very good athlete, excelling at football.  Bob was a graduate of Penn State University earning degrees in Business Management and Wildlife Management.  Following college, Bob played soccer with an adult league soccer team and earned a 3rd degree black belt in Kung Fu, participating in many competitions.  Bob enjoyed riding his motorcycle and traveled in many cross country trips.  He was a classic car enthusiast who restored many old cars and attended numerous car shows.  He was an avid woodsman and enjoyed shooting and target practice.  Most recently Bob re-engaged his wildlife management expertise, promoting the survival of local wildlife.

Bob had co-owned and operated Gold Star Custom Cycles and Bob’s Auto on Main Street in Emlenton for many years.

Bob is survived by his mother, Ann Makuch, of Emlenton; two brothers, Stephen A. Makuch and his wife, Connie of St. Petersburg, FL and Kenneth A. Makuch and his wife, Susan, of Westford, MA; two nieces, Jennifer Ralph and her husband, Lee, of Pittsburgh and Christina Makuch of Westford, MA; two nephews, Matthew and Daniel Makuch; and a great niece, Becca Ralph.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Steve, and his younger brother, James “Jimmy” Makuch.
