I lived next door to Bob and LaVerne (in a house built by Bob) from 1988 to about 2003. They were both kind and caring neighbors, always ready with a listening ear, and a helping hand. LaVerne used to say they were the "Ma and Pa of Squaw Valley Woodlands," as folks who bought cabins for weekend and vacation use depended on them for many things. She will be remembered by my family for her kind smile, and I regret not keeping in better touch after I moved from the area. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

I met Laverne through my daughter Carrie & her mother in law Judy.
as I am looking at her picture & recalling her I remember her kind words & addictive smile. MAY OUR LORD WRAP HIS LOVING ARMS AROUND YOU AS THE MEMORIES FLOW & RUN DOWN YOUR CHEEK. MAY HE HOLD YOU IN THE COMFORT OF HIS LOVING ARMS THROUGH THIS TIME OF SORROW. PEACE BE WITH YOU & YOURS. <3

She was my friend who adopted me, she'd say I way like a lost puppy and we'd laugh and giggle. We often sat outside and watched the clouds and the mysterious shapes that would form we'd giggle and laugh some more. I miss that laughter already. LaVerne was a special person to me like a grandma. I will miss you always.
