James Clark Davis II, 72, a well-known Emlenton resident and retired businessman, died Monday evening, May 22, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness.

 

James was born in Oil City on January 21, 1945.  He was the son of the late James C. and Margaret Criswell Davis.

 

Jim was a graduate of Mars High School.  He had owned and operated Daveco Construction Inc. as well as J & C Hardwoods.  Jim enjoyed the company of his family and friends and playing pool. 

 

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann McGinnis Davis; four sons, James C. Davis III of Oil City, John Davis and his wife, Diane, of Oil City, Jeffrey Davis and his wife, Peg, of President, and Jason Davis and his wife, Michelle, of Delaware; eight grandchildren, Jake, Nate, Riley, Jonathan, Brandt, Chandler, Jackson, and Alexis; a sister, Kay Perry and her husband D. “Pete” of Maryland; two stepsons, Greg O’Brien and his wife, Lori, of Emlenton and David O’Brien of Kathleen, Georgia; four step grandchildren, John Paul, Casey and his wife, Abigail, Andrew, and Daniel; one step great grandson, Gregory, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Julie; a sister, Margaret Wesnesky.

 

Interment will be at Crawford Memorial Cemetery, Emlenton.  Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hile Funeral Home Inc., Emlenton.  Memorial contributions may be made to the venangovnafoundation.org.  Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
