Florence D. Robinson

Florence D. “Flo” Harris Robinson, 90, of Central Avenue, Chicora, passed away Sunday morning, June 26, 2016 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Florence was born in Fairmont, West Virginia on June 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Harry and Viola Appel Dillow.

Florence was a long time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora.  In her earlier years, she had been employed by Gaisford’s Pharmacy in Chicora.  Flo was an accomplished seamstress.  She enjoyed playing bingo, baking, crafts and knitting and was a member of the Thread Brigade Quilting Group at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. 

She was married in Fairmont, WV on June 10, 1945 to Paul Harris.  He preceded her in death on March 26, 1980.

Florence is survived by her husband, Stewart H. Robinson, whom she married in Chicora on November 3, 1984.  Also surviving is a daughter, Violet Dunmyre and her husband, Richard, of Karns City; three sons, Paul Harris II and his wife, Sue, of Boise, Idaho, Raymond Dale Harris and his wife, Joan, of Butler, and Timothy Harris and his wife, Carolyn, of Houston, TX; three step children, Beverly Moore and her husband, Don, of Chicora, Diana Bowman and her husband, Dave, of Butler, and Ronald Robinson of Chicora; five grandchildren, Jon Harris, Cathy Harris Brinkman, Will Harris, Allison Dunmyre Broz, and Andrea Dunmyre; two great granddaughters, Paige and Abby; a number of step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Karen Harris and one sister and five brothers.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 4 – 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Rd., Chicora, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Boomhower, church pastor, officiating.  Interment will be in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
