Florence "Kate" Kanonchoff

Florence Katherine “Kate” Kanonchoff, 95, of Saint Petersburg, died Thursday morning, September 29, 2016 at Parker Personal Care.

Kate was born in Saint Petersburg on November 22, 1920 and was the daughter of Charles K. and Mary J. Logue Master. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Saint Petersburg and graduated from St. Petersburg-Richland High School in 1939 and the Saint Francis School of Nursing in Pittsburgh in 1942.

Kate was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as a nurse in North Africa and the South Pacific during WWII.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter E. Kanonchoff who died in 1970.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Sonja and Dean Shoup, of Saint Petersburg, two nieces and a nephew.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kate was preceded in death by two children and two sisters, Jane Baum and Frances Fair.
