Della V. (Caliari) Barnhart

Della V. Barnhart, 92, of Chicora, passed away Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler surrounded by her family.  She had been a resident of the Chicora Medical Center for the last nine years.

Born in Chicora on May 12, 1925, Della was the daughter of the late Angelo and Theresa Zanella Caliari.

Della was co-owner of Barnhart Trucking in Chicora and was a lifelong member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society.  She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and spending time with her children, sister, and grandchildren.

She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Sandra (Gerald) Wagner of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Rose Ann Miller Humphreys of Doral, FL, Mrs. Jean (Patrick) Neff of Chicora, Mrs. Patricia (George) Pikoulas of Butler, and Mrs. Shirley (Richard) Rattigan of Chicora; a son, Lee (Virginia) Barnhart, also of Chicora; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Della was preceded in death by her husband, Lee E. Barnhart, who died on October 6, 1999; three brothers, a sister, and a grandson.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora, with the Rev.
