Connie L. (Claypoole) Wolford

Connie L. Wolford, 80, of Petrolia St., Karns City, passed away early Friday morning, July 8, 2016 at Sugarcreek Rest in Worthington.

Connie was born in Chicora on June 3, 1936.  She was the daughter of the late Lawrence W. and Carrie M. Early Claypoole.

She was a 1954 graduate of Fairview Twp. Karns City High School.

Connie was a member of the Karns City United Methodist Church.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, word search, playing cards and yahtzee.  In her earlier years Connie had worked at Uber’s Clothing Store in Chicora.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy S. Wolford, whom she married on February 14, 1955.

Surviving are four children, Lawrence Wolford of Karns City, Robert Wolford and his wife, Sue, of Sarver, Marjorie Pennington and her husband, Larry, of Bruin, Lee Ann Weiland and her companion, Brian Northime, of Chicora; seven grandchildren, Adrienne Harr, Glorianna Berry, Kayla Myrlie, Nichol Switzer, Jonathan Pennington, Jennifer Weiland, Patrick Weiland; seven great grandchildren; two step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren; three sisters, Sandra Lincoln of Chicora, Joyce Ciani and her husband, Bob, of Sarver, Sue McCue of Chicora; a brother-in-law, Raymond Silvis of North Washington, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Connie was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Silvis and a son-in-law, Paul Weiland.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 7 – 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Tuesday.  A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Brenda Reitler, pastor of the Zion Assembly Church in Karns City. officiating.  Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery in Petrolia.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.  For additional information or to send a condolence, please visit www.hilefh.com.
