Christine M. Charlton

Christine M. Charlton, 58, of Butler, went to be with the Lord Monday afternoon, January 11, 2016 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Christine was born in Kansas City, MO on December 25, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Lynn R. "Bob" and Mary E. Vassar Hupp. She was a 1976 graduate of Butler High School; she also graduated from the New Castle Beauty School and Butler County Community College. She enjoyed gardening, singing karaoke, and the company of her dogs. She was also a family living provider for ARC in Butler. She had been employed at H&R Block for a number of years, and retired from the Office of Personnel Management in Boyers. Christine was a Christian and was of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by her husband, George W. Charlton, whom she married in Karns City on May 19, 1978. Surviving is a daughter, Charissa Charlton Doyle; two sons Justin Charlton and his wife Amber, and Steven Charlton, all of Butler; a brother, Charles Hupp, of East Butler; a sister, Vicky Butler, of Butler; 13 grandchildren, Steven, Tiffany, Christopher, Jase, Chase, Jonathan, Austin, Logan, Alayna, Emma, as well as three grandchildren in Florida; and a great-grandson, Konnor, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora-Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 10-11:00 a.m. Saturday. A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Krajacic, pastor of the Community Alliance Church in Butler, officiating. Interment will be Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
