Carole D. Jamison

Carole D. Jamison, 72, of Perryville Rd., Parker, went to be with the Lord following a very special prayer on May 15, 2016 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

 

Born February 11, 1944, Carole was the daughter of Walter C. Hovis and A. Louise Latshaw Hovis Moyer.  Carole was a 1962 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School in Emlenton.

 

She was married to Larry J. Jamison, who survives.  They were married on August 7, 1961 at the Parker Methodist Church, and would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year.

 

Carole and Larry purchased their home in Perryville, Perry Twp., Clarion Co. from her grandmother, Emma Pollum Latshaw in 1964, where they raised their four children.  Carole recently served at secretary/treasurer of the Perryville Water Company.

 

She attended Six Points Church of God of Prophecy in Parker, and especially enjoyed Bible Study.  Carole also loved genealogy, working on the Family Tree and seeking history through libraries, cemeteries, and historical societies.  In the 1970s and ‘80s, Carole was well known for baking and decorating wedding and birthday cakes.

 

She was a current member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and Ancestry.com.  Carole was a past member of the Foxburg Foxy Flames Red Hat Society, Clarion County Homemakers, and East Unity Presbyterian Church in Cherry Valley, near Emlenton.

 

In addition to her loving husband, Carole is survived by a sister, Bonnie Moyer Jeannerat and her husband, Garry, of Marble.  Also surviving are four children, Mark Jamison and his wife, Ann, near Richmond, VA, Jodie Hagan and her husband, Craig, of Parker, James Jamison and his wife, Nicki, of Lake Lure, NC, and Laura Jamison and her significant other, Jeff Mohney, of Foxburg.  Carole was blessed with five grandchildren, Rachel Jamison, Andrew Hagan and his wife, Samantha, Abigail Hagan, A.J. Jamison, and Aaron Jamison and his wife, Diana, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

She was preceded in death by her father in 1948, her mother in 1978, and step-father, Kenneth B. Moyer in 1991.

 

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 802 Grove St., St. Petersburg, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday from the Six Points Church of God of Prophecy, 126 McKee Rd., Parker, with the Rev. Brent McMasters, church pastor, officiating. There will be no viewing at church.  Interment will follow in Perryville Cemetery, Perry Twp., Clarion Co.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Foxburg Library or the Perryville Cemetery Association.  For additional information or to send a condolence, please visit www.hilefh.com.
